I think I did a good job! (self hug🥰) My husband thinks it had 3 cups of Espresso already 🤣🤣🤣

Cecile said, when we are painting with Gouache, 90% of the time we are in the “ugly” stage. We have to trust the process and push through till the end to see the result. It’s true, mine look hopeless most of the time. But I love cats, I push through with my love for them🤣🤣🤣

I love this workshop! Simple, fun and creative!! I enjoy letting the unconscious mind to wander with lazy lines on paper. And the conscious mind comes in and see what shapes or forms are there to develop a drawing. I can see myself keep doing this lazy line drawings!💖💖💖

Kids seem to like watching me drawing. 🥰
A few of them talked to me today.
I shared a sheet of scrap paper with one of them. I showed him how to observe the bird and he ended up finding new features himself to draw. Feeling magical when he smiled to me at the end and said thank you.

I love Silberpappel! So I went 1 hr earlier than the meetup time, to sketch as much as I want!🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳🥳

Weather was amazing and many shades under trees. One of urban sketcher is playing handpan while I was sketching. Many cute dogs were having fun. Butterflies were flying around me. It just likes heaven to me.

I wonder if you can feel my joy through my drawings.🙈🌻🤩🥳

Feel sad that it is the last day. I have learned so much from Sushma.

Here are some ideas that are very helpful to me:
- It is just a sheet of paper, you can always paint again (and again!)
- What to focus on when watching a tutorial. Not only looking at the paint on paper, but also how the artist use their wrist; how often they dip their brush in the water and paint, etc.
- No need to get the same result as teacher does for the first few attempts.
- Work on tonal values with a few colors can make a more harmonious outcome, instead of using a lots of different ready-made paints.
- Watercolor IS controllable and predictable (to a certain extent), let go of the “fear” mindset when approaching to the practice and play

I start to enjoy using watercolour, instead of scared of its “uncontrollability”! 💖💖💖

It didn’t go as I wanted. It’s okay. But it’s not too bad either. It is my first Peony painted ever!! 🥳🥳🥳

1st attempt during live session and my 2nd attempt.

I got the idea of water control, but can’t execute it yet. Need tons of exercise 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Biggest takeaway is I don’t have to paint the same as teacher does. I got frustrated sometimes when I compare my own result with teacher’s one after following their tutorial. But I should remember I am just getting started, I wouldn’t get the same result with an experienced artist.
